Eureka Heritage Society Honors 7 with its 2003 Historic Preservation Awards:


  • Three Awards given for Commercial Restoration:
  • Dan Ricks, for his Picky, Picky, Picky Store at 6th & E Streets.
  • Globe Properties, for the Joseph Russ Building at 527-535 Third Street.
  • Dan and Joyce Ollivier, for the Gross Building at 427 F Street.

  • The Adaptive Reuse Preservation Award to Omsberg & Associates for 304 N Street.
  • Residential Restoration: Mike & Renee Delaney for 1526 E Street.
  • Special Recognition: Nancy Spruance, for her Nancy Spruance Designs.
  • Preservation of Eureka Award: Given to Nancy Fleming, former Mayor of Eureka.

  • “The Preservation Awards,” explains EHS Past-President Ron Kuhnel, “are an incentive to building owners to restore and maintain the buildings that are Eureka’s important heritage.”
