The Eureka Heritage Society holds its 2008 Historic Preservation Awards

Leslie Heald, June Beal, The Binnie/Becker Partnership, James Madsen, Greg Debacker, Niki Delson and Ron Kokish, The Federal Building and the Arkley Center for the Performing Arts were honored by the Eureka Heritage Society during its 2008 Historic Preservation Awards Ceremony in the Eureka Woman’s Club, 1531 J Street, Saturday, May 3, 2008, 1:30PM.

  • June Beal was honored posthumously with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
  • The Commercial Building Presevation Award went to the Binnie/Becker Partnership for 721 7th Street
  • The Community Building Preservation Award went to both the Federal Building at 5th & H Streets and The Arkley Center for the Performing Arts 412 G Street.
  • Niki Delson and Ron Kokish received the Adaptive Re-use Preservation Award for 305 O Street.
  • Leslie Heald was named Preservationist of the Year.
  • The Preservation Awards for Residential went to James Madsen for 1626 C Street and Greg Debacker for 904 M Street.

  • “The Preservation Awards,” explains EHS Past-President Ron Kuhnel, “are an incentive to building owners to restore and maintain the buildings that are Eureka’s important heritage.”
